The Peachy Dress & Playsuit is a versatile pattern with many options. The sewing tutorial shows how to make 5 versions but many more options are possible by mixing together the pattern parts and using trims and fabrics to create your own unique styles.

The basic dress or playsuit is simple and quick to make, ideal for the novice seamstress. Options include shoulder frills with an elastic neckline, two styles of pockets and a separate shorts pattern. The tutorial shows how to make minor adjustments to the pattern for a simple pillowcase dress or top. Lace edging, piping, binding and rickrack braid can be added for a special touch. Any combination of skirt, long pants or shorts can be used with the bodice.                    Experience: suitable for the novice seamstress with some experience: only plain sewing skills required;no zips or buttonholes.                                                      Sizes: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14,16  to fit children 2 to 14 years. A size chart in centimetres and inches is included in the pattern. The elastic waist and drawstring or elastic neckline means the fit is flexible and an extra size 16 has been added to expand the sizing for older kids.                                                                           Fabrics: medium weight and lightweight cottons e.g. poplin, homespun and similar fabrics are best.  Minimal stretch knits e.g. cotton single knit jersey are also suitable.
